Rental service for Freiberg & Mittweida

We offer you comprehensive support for all questions relating to your accommodation. From damage reports and repair enquiries to emergency key services - we always endeavour to make your stay as smooth as possible. All important forms, contact information and instructions can be found on our website.

Damage reports / repairs / emergency call service in the event of accidents

The caretaker is your first point of contact if you notice any damage or defects in your room, in the shared flat or elsewhere in the building. Please complete the notification of defects form. Please describe the damage or defect as precisely as possible. The caretaker will then get in touch with you. Please also provide your telephone number and e-mail address for contact purposes.

Self-lockout / emergency key service

If you lock yourself out, please call the emergency locksmith service outside the caretaker's working hours! Please remember that you must identify yourself as the tenant of the room in question at the latest after the door has been unlocked!

Of course, there is a charge for the emergency locksmith service. However, we have concluded contracts with service companies that charge student-friendly prices.

Please note the current notices in the house!

Information on

Please check whether there is an emergency! Keep calm and do not panic! It is possible that a false alarm has been triggered by improper behaviour on the part of tenants!

Special features Freiberg:

  • Agricolastrasse:
Please note that the fire alarm systems in the corridors in Agricolastrasse are connected directly to the fire brigade, i.e. if the alarm is triggered, the fire brigade will inevitably arrive without having been called separately. Your smoke alarm in the room is not connected to the fire alarm system and can be switched off by yourself if there is no fire.
  • Winklerstraße and Heinrich-Heine-Straße:
In these residential complexes, there is a house alarm system that is not connected directly to the fire brigade. In the event of a fire, you must call the fire brigade! (112)

Special features Mittweida:

  • Residential complex Schwanenteich 8, houses 2 and 4
Please note that there is a house alarm system in these houses that is not connected to the fire brigade. In the event of a fire, you must call the fire brigade! (112)

Please note:

  • If it turns out that there is no fire, i.e. it is a false alarm, the Studentenwerk may be charged considerable costs, which we may pass on to the person responsible. In the event of misuse (especially when fire extinguishers are blown off after parties), we will also press charges.
  • In the event of a false alarm, the alarm system can only be reset by authorised personnel (e.g. Emergency call service), not by the fire brigade! There is always a person in charge of the fire alarm system in the residential complexes who you can contact.
  • Notes on avoiding false alarms

Please do not forget to register at the registration office. You should do this within two weeks of moving in. This deadline also applies if you are registering a secondary residence. To register in Freiberg and Mittweida, you will need your identity card or passport and the confirmation from your landlord.

You will automatically receive the landlord's confirmation of residence from us when you move in.

If you move abroad when you move out, you must deregister with the registration office. We can issue you with a corresponding confirmation of residence for moving abroad on request.

The following statements only apply to German students.

In principle, it is advisable to register your main place of residence at your place of study. However, please note that the change of registration may affect your insurance cover in particular. If you are covered by certain insurance policies through your parents, check whether these are still valid for you before re-registering. This may concern, for example, liability, household contents or legal expenses insurance where the insurance cover is linked to the household affiliation. However, this may also be the case if you live with your parents. This can be very important for you in the event of a claim.

The towns of Freiberg and Mittweida levy a secondary residence tax for registration as a secondary residence.

You should seek advice from the Residents' Registration Office on the further consequences of re-registering your main place of residence (with regard to applying for housing benefit, exercising your right to vote, housing subsidy and building child benefit for your parents as well as registering your vehicle, etc.) before re-registering.

Please do not forget to hand in your certificate of enrolment at the beginning of each semester to your responsible clerk. You can find this point under the "General terms and conditions of hire" under point 1.2. We need the certificate of enrolment to ensure that you are enrolled and therefore authorised to continue living with us.

Please remember that you are responsible for paying the licence fee to the ARD ZDF Deutschlandradio Beitragsservice (formerly GEZ) in Cologne. BAföG recipients can be exempted from payment.

Detailed information is available at www.rundfunkbeitrag.de.

The "Fee schedule" gives you a brief overview of the costs incurred by us for damage, car park rental and other costs. These costs are either debited directly during your rental period or offset against the deposit when you move out or relocate.
