Our current opening hours

The Studentenwerk Freiberg runs two canteens, two cafeterias and a café in Freiberg and Mittweida. Below you will find all the opening hours of our catering facilities.

Canteen in Freiberg

The Freiberg Student Union canteen offers a variety of reasonably priced meals for students, staff and guests of TU Bergakademie Freiberg every day.

Coffee machines are available from 08:00 am

The cafeteria offers a selection of coffee specialities, drinks and small sweet or savoury snacks for students, employees and guests of TU Bergakademie Freiberg from morning to afternoon.

Café in the lecture theatre centre

Coffee takes centre stage here, whether espresso, cappuccino or café latte, the beans are freshly ground through the portafilter into the cup.

The cafeteria offers a selection of coffee specialities, drinks and small sweet or savoury snacks for students, staff and guests of Mittweida University of Applied Sciences from morning to afternoon.

Food offers in the canteens

In addition to a wide range of hot dishes, there is also a salad bar, desserts and various drinks. The canteens emphasise fresh ingredients and also offer vegetarian, vegan and international options to cater for different dietary requirements.

Payment

In addition to the top-up machines in the canteens, you can also use our Autoload system for cashless top-ups.

By the way: students only pay a small part of our operating costs in addition to the cost of goods.

Sustainability

The Freiberg Student Union is actively committed to greater sustainability in its canteens.

Dishes labelled with the KlimaTeller cause at least 50 % less CO₂ emissions than comparable dishes. In addition, we rely on a reusable crockery system to avoid disposable packaging.

Education

Every year, we offer apprenticeships for chefs in our canteens. Alternatively, you can also complete the training programme to become a kitchen specialist with us.

In recent years, our trainees have achieved top placings in regional cookery competitions.
