Loan amount and term
- up to 400 €
- End of repayment after 9 months at the latest
Applicants
- Students of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences
Application / payment
- Application is made in writing to the Studentenwerk Freiberg
- payment is made by bank transfer
The following are required for processing
- of German students:
- valid certificate of enrolment and
- Identity card
- of foreign students:
- valid certificate of enrolment and
- valid residence permit
Interest rate
- No interest is charged if the repayment conditions are met
Repayment
- Completion of repayment max. 9 months after disbursement.
- Repayment in one amount or in instalments
- agreed repayment amount is collected by SEPA direct debit from the specified account

Hardship fund of the Deutsches Studierendenwerk e. V.
Award principles
- Bridging financial aid for students in an economic emergency situation
- the emergency situation cannot be alleviated by another private or public organisation in the short term
- Covering necessary study expenses or for needs that are not covered by BAföG
Loan amount and term
- a maximum of 12 times the monthly BAföG standard rate for students living away from home (as of 1 July 2014: € 7,164.00)
- The maximum loan term is 60 months, beginning with the month in which the first instalment is paid out
Applicants
- Students of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences
- Doctorates, postgraduate or second degree programmes are not eligible for funding
Application / payment
- Application and payment are made via the Studentenwerk Freiberg
- Payment is made in monthly instalments in monthly amounts that may not exceed 1/12 of the loan amount
- Transfer to the borrower's account
- Repayment amounts are debited from the specified account as a direct debit
Interest and guarantee
- No interest is paid on the loan if the lending conditions are met
- A directly enforceable surety or bank guarantee must be deposited to secure the loan
Repayment
- Latest start of repayment 6 months after payment of the last instalment.
- Monthly repayment instalments must be at least €55
