Please note:

When looking for a flat, students can fall victim to dubious housing providers. They demand cash payments or bank transfers from students in advance if they want to receive the tenancy agreement. We strongly advise against giving landlords - especially those who are personally unknown - cash or bank transfers to a non-German account in order to conclude a tenancy agreement.
