fusion-clearfix\">\n<p>In principle, every student at TU Bergakademie Freiberg and Hochschule Mittweida can apply for a place to live at Studentenwerk Freiberg. It is important that you have a valid certificate of enrolment for one of the two universities, but you only have to present this when you sign the tenancy agreement. There are also some priority rules for the selection of tenants. In addition, students who fulfil the following criteria are prioritised for a place of residence:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>foreign first-year students (m\/f\/d) who are disadvantaged on the free housing market,<\/li>\n<li>physically disabled and chronically ill students for whom accommodation at the Studentenwerk makes their situation easier,<\/li>\n<li>Students who find themselves in an exceptionally difficult personal situation,<\/li>\n<li>Students with children (no surcharge is levied for children up to the age of 18),<\/li>\n<li>Students, especially first-year students, who are unable to reach their home town by local transport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have set ourselves the above points in order to be able to provide the best possible support for students who find it difficult to find a place to live. Fridges and cooking facilities are available in the kitchens.<\/p>\n<p>The following items are not part of the basic equipment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bedding (blanket, pillow) and bed linen. You will receive a separate car park contract for this (for prices see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studentenwerk-freiberg.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Gebuehrenordnung_Wohnanlagen_2026.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fee schedule<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The licence fee is NOT included in the rent. The deposit is a guarantee for us that we can remedy any damage\/defects caused by the tenant (see also the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studentenwerk-freiberg.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Gebuehrenordnung_Wohnanlagen_2026.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fee schedule<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>If no defects or similar are found when you move out, the deposit is usually refunded after 2 months. The previous tenant usually lives in your future room the day before you move in or is in the process of moving out.<\/p>\n<p>We have therefore gone to great lengths to ensure that our website (at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studentenwerk-freiberg.de\/en\/wohnen\/in-freiberg-wohnen\/\">Living in Freiberg<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studentenwerk-freiberg.de\/en\/wohnen\/in-mittweida-wohnen\/\">Living in Mittweida<\/a>) to show all room types true to scale, including the existing furnishings.
